Hello my dear friends!
Firstly I must ask you to forgive my hiatus, but then again I won't apologize for having a life
So, what about the title of this Journal entry, hu?
Did I go to Japan?
Yes.
I did.
I went to Japan.... but lets just say all of this is a bit more complicated than just that.
Anyone who has known me for a while knows I've been a Gundam W fan for a long time... So for the past three years I've been saving up money, in order to be able to go to Japan for my 10th anniversary as a Gundam Wing fan. And indeed, I was able to do so.
I had saved up enough money to go there for a month.
The thing is that in early 2008, I had almost no contacts there, so my best friend asked her friend, for his friend's email address, cuz my best friend's friend's friend was japanese.
To make it simpler from now on, lets just call my best friend's friend's friend : Skz
So I didn't immidiatly email Skz, cuz honestly, I didn't wanna bother him (I didn't know him and besides I thought it was some old, married man, with more important things to do, than to worry for a complete stranger.)
Anywhoooo... eventually and after my best friend poked me for a while saying: "It's fine, he offered, it's ok..." I went ahead and sent a very polite email.
He replied almost immidiatly, laughing , saying that he was at the moment also in Argentina (I also found out he was argentine, and japanese-descendant).
But eventually i gave him my MSN and we randomly talked.
During 2008 we didn't speak much (I was holding two and even three jobs at times, AND studying Japanese)
So... what happened?
Heh.. I'm still not sure.
I only know that by november 2008 we started to have long conversations about random & stupid stuff.
On the 24th of December, he was home, I was home and we started to talk, and talk, and talk... suddenly I was saving an MSN conversation, then another.
So by January this year we were very good friends.
By February we started to talk every day for 5,6 even 7 hours in a row... we realized we had a lot in common, and by february the 14th I already realized this was going somewhere else.
Skz later told me later on, he knew right away... even before I sent the first email... he said that for some strange reason he was always waiting for that first email to arrive. *and it rains little hearts and glitter *
Because of that, he frecuently asks me: "When did YOU know?"
And I can never tell him exactly. The thing is that I have been hurt so many times, lied to, decieved, dumped before dating (yeah, it CAN happen), that I just didn't wanna believe in love anymore...
Loving without being loved back your entire life, is to say the least, painful.
And like 5 years ago , I had had an online-relationship from which the guy (who lived 20 miles away from home) had run from. So how could I ever expect that a online-relationship with someone who lived 30,000 miles from home could work?
The thing is that by the end of February, I went to change my ticket, and move the arrival date a month sooner... leaving the return date intact... So I would stay 2 months instead of one. (BTW, argentines can go to Japan without a visa for 3 months)
I changed the arrival date to Japan cuz.. well, honestly we couldn't be apart from each other anymore.
The first available flight was arriving in Japan on the 8th of April (one day after Gundam's 30th Anniversary). Non the less, in my head , not sure why... but I always thought it was on the 8th and not the 7th.
When I finally arrived to Japan, sakuras were still blooming.
The first thing I did was crying.
Arriving at the Narita airport , with all those blooming Sakuras welcoming me was too much for me.
Skz had told me he would pick me up from the airport, but it was wednesday, and I wasn't sure if he would skip his job that day... but he did... And not only that... but since my flight was arriving at 7 AM, he actually left his home the night before and stayed at a manga-kissa, so he would be able to arrive in time for my flight...

We said hi with a kiss on the cheek (average argentine greeting)... then I run to the smoking area cuz I hadn't had a cigarrette in 29 hrs XD (Damn Australian airport that doesn't have a smoking area!)
We then took the Narita express train. In there he opened his bag and pulled out a PERFECT Red Rose (it is still a mystery to me how that rose didn't break in two in that bag).
When he gave me that rose I just couldn't hold back and kissed him. (He had bragged about being a good kisser, but that first kiss was pathetic XD ) That first kiss was sloppy, bad, and his beard scratched my face
(He wasn't shaved cuz he had left the night before and his beard had already grown)
So there were things that I still didn't know about him, and now this first kiss was so bad... I wasn't sure what to do.
ANYWHOO... We got to his house (my "home" during my stay there), we grabbed something to eat and when we went back I was very upfront with my doubts and everything.
He pretty much clarified everything on that same day, the kissing got much better, and I was happy.
So we became a couple...(strange to start living with someone at the same time you start dating ). It was complicated sometimes, but at the same time you know right from the get go whether you can live together, the things that tick you off, bad tempers XD, attitudes.. etc
Over the days, he took me to a bunch of places close from home (on the limit of Yokosuka and Yokohama)... Ueno Koen(Tokyo), Sea Paradise(Yokohama), Yokohamas Landmark tower, Enojima(Kamakura), etc.
I became completly dependant on him.
I had studied Japanese... HECK! I actually passed the International Japanese Exam (the basic one, the Yon-kyu)... but over there, it took me almost a month to learn how those freaking trains worked!... and I never really spoke Japanese.. I just pulled on his sleeve puppy-facing and he requested everything in japanese.
Life was simple at times, and complicated others...
Suddenly it was golden week and we went on vacations.. (vacations in the vacations)... We went to Kyouto, Osaka, Himeji, Hiroshima and Miyashima. We went to the Osamu Tezuka Museum, Osamu Tezuka World, Kinkakuji(Golden Temple, Kyouto), Ginkakuji(Silver Temple, Kyouto... which was a rip off, cuz there was no silver! If you are going there before march 2011 , skip it XP).
Himeji Castle, Osaka Castle, Hiroshima Castle, Himeji was my favourite, Osaka one was a museum... Hiroshima one was good but it was totally reconstructed (you know the A-bomb and stuff?)
Afterwards we went back home and nothing. I wanted to stay there with him (FOREVER) but the economic crisis hit Japan pretty badly so they weren't hiring Gaijins anymore, in fact they were sort of paying them to leave XD...
I tried to change my ticket to go back to Argentina in July (the 3 month limit) But there werent any more seats available...
So I was doomed to come back on the 6th of June... and so I did.
During May we went to a bunch of Places, Bandai Museum, Tokyo Tower, Mount Fuji, SUNRISE STUDIO! (YEAH BITCH! I DID IT FUCK! I have pictures)... He did all of this while working ... I'm sure it wasn't easy for him.
No.. I didn't draw in Japan... I did buy some cool Gundam Markers tho ^-^ , and wrote my SKZ some letters, but those are privates.
Then it was time to say goodbye.
I cried terribly the 2 days prior to leaving... I just didn't have enough time, enough words, enough tears... to tell SKZ how much I loved him, how much I wanted to stay , even tho I knew I couldn't.
During the time I was there, he finally decided to come back to Argentina for good... but that's three months away from now.
And even when he does come to Argentina, there are a bunch of issues here... his work, my work, moving in together (and the time that will take) ,etc...
But...
Trains will never be on time in Argentina.
The floor will never be clean in Argentina.
The criminals wont stop killing you for 3 bucks, in Argentina.
You'll never see bikes without a lock in Argentina.
People don't wear beautiful Kimonos on average days in Argentina.
You can't eat of the floor in Argentina.
Mail wont be flawless and have your stuff home perfectly on time in Argentina.
There will never be a Rillakkuma, or Monokuroboo in Argentina.
Then again... in Argentina, you can skip work without worrying.
In Argentina you can sleep with ease (NO ONE SLEEPS IN JAPAN)
In Argentina work is simple, and you can even sleep there at times.
In Argentina you can smoke everywhere.
In Argentina candy has sugar! (Damn MACHA ICE CREAMS!)
In Argentina weekends are sagrate!
In Argentina you can see your friends, have fun, and talk.
In Argentina you have time.
At least there's something that Skz and I will have here, and that's Time...
